Use of BALA (Building as Learning Aid) features for primary school children. BALA is a perfect example of how to maximize the
use of available resources for teaching learning activities.
Providing a print rich environment and facilitating the students with maximum information through their surroundings/building enhances their learning outside classroom. Building As A Learning Aid (BALA) is about developing the schools entire physical environment as a learning aid – the inside, the outside, the semi-open spaces – every where. At the core, it is about maximizing the educational
valueof a built space. It is based on how children learn.
BALA activity helps in:
- Creating child-friendly learning environment
- Learning by doing and experiencing
- Involving multiple senses in the learning process
- Allowing different children to learn at a different place
- Learning through peer group activities
- Developing inclusive settings for all children
- Allowing children to learn all the time in the school environment
